Acapulco bay is probably the best known beach resort in Mexico, the bay area consists of not just one, but many different beaches. So you can choose a different place every day if you wish.
There is no shortage of hotels in Acapulco, from five star with gourmet restaurants and golf courses to the more economic kind. There are also many attractions in the area.

Some well known attractions in Acapulco are "La Quebrada", which is a majestic cliff, the main square and Cathedral, the Cultural Institute of Guerrero, the Acapulco Convention Center and the beautiful lagoon of Coyuca amoungst many more.
There is also a handicraft market where you can buy beautifully crafted gold and silver jewellery, art made in paper mache, objects made from coconut, wood and palm, leather goods, pottery and textiles.
Acapulco is a great place to visit during a trip to Mexico as it has a year round hot climate, plenty of hotels and restaurants, excellent night life, golf courses, craft markets and much more.

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco

Puerto Vallarta is located in the Bay of Banderas, on the Pacific coast of the beautiful and diverse state of Jalisco, Mexico.
This beach resort offers a wide range of tourist attractions, from cultural attractions, markets and theatres to tours to the nearby jungle and various water based activities such as water skiing, diving and excellent swimming conditions in the calm, protected bay.

Puerto Vallarta offers good deep sea sport fishing for marlin, sailfish, dorado and snapper. There are many charter boats available from the harbour. There is also fresh water fishing in the mountains.
There is a colony of humpback whales in Banderas Bay and there are many boat tours available to see these magnificent mammals.
Some other activities available in Puerto Vallarta are golf, tennis and mountain biking. There are also many great shops and markets in which to buy a variety of gifts, local craftwork, pottery, textiles and much more.

Puerto Escondido on the Pacific coast of Oaxaca, is most famous for itīs surfing. Zicatela beach is the home of the "Mexican Pipeline" and a very well known surfing spot throughout the world.
At the end of November of each year, there is a surfing contest held at Zicatela beach, if you like surfing this has to be the best time to visit. If you are looking for a peaceful vacation, better to go at another time of year.

As well as the surfing, Puerto Escondido has a main town with shops and markets. Some beautifuly quiet bays are located to the north of Zicatela, ideal places to get away from the main town beaches. Boats are available to take you to some of these bays.

Located to the south of Cancún, Playa del Carmen is a Mexican Caribbean resort that has grown enormously in the last few years. This resort offers many hotels of varying standards and many activities for the tourist.
Playa del Carmen is an ideal place to sit back and relax in the tropical Mexican sun, less busy than Cancún, it is a jewel of the Mexican Caribbean coast and a good base from which to visit some other places that are near to the resort.

There are many good restaurants and bars, gift shopping, and good scuba diving. If you are a diving enthusiast, perhaps a trip to Cozumel (only a short boat ride away) would be a good idea, Cozumel offers some of the best drift diving in the Mexican Caribbean.
Some other places to visit are Xcaret, Tulum (with Mayan ruins right on the beach), Coba and Chichén Iztá (a little further away) amoungst others.

Cancún, Quintana Roo

Cancún is the best known Caribbean resort in the state of Quintana Roo in Mexico. Famous for itīs white sand beaches and turquiose waters, it is a very popular vacation destiny.
This resort has many hotels that fit into just about every catagory, from Grand Tourism and five stars to the more economic. There are also golf courses, tennis courts and every other activity you could imagine.

Cancún has a great night life, with a multitude of bars, night clubs and restaurants. There is always somewhere open, all through the night.
Some interesting or more relaxing places around Cancún are Isla Mujeres (for great scuba diving), Chichén Itzá (Mayan ruins), Mérida and Uxmal (Mayan ruins).
